The kitchen in this ranch style home was the original layout complete with hanging cabinets that closed in the space.

This updated kitchen is now, bright and open. The lighting was completely renewed by removing the old florescent box and adding LED cans and undercabinet lighting. The Thermador gas cooktop, oven and range hood match well with the stainless-steel KitchenAid refrigerator and dishwasher. Notice the floor to ceiling storage cabinets at the far end.

The Cherry cabinetry really pops against the light-colored quartz countertop and subway tile backsplash. The sink is a deep, cast iron, undermount from Kohler and the Franke, faucet is in satin nickel.

If you look closely, on the left you can see a wall that kept this old kitchen in Albany very closed in. This before picture shows how thrifty the owners wanted to be with their home. After so many years, it was time for change.

This Albany kitchen is now wide open. By opening the wall, the space seems so much bigger. The home owners wanted a classic feel with all new everything. Notice the beautiful, freestanding, gas range that looks old but it’s really new. The cabinetry is a cream colored, classic, shaker style from Huntwood and the new, farm style apron sink is from Kohler. The tile backsplash is a subway pattern with a mix of color called the “butter blend” from Melange which sets off the Caesarstone, Dreamy Marfil countertop.

Looking the other direction, we see the new office space and laundry area, including a new rinse sink next to the back door. The desk cabinetry matches the kitchen but has a unique, solid wooden, custom top. Note the stacking washer/dryer to save space. The lighting is all new, LED cans and pendants along with some undercabinet lighting. Finishing off the entire room is new, solid oak flooring.

The owner of this Martinez kitchen wanted everything to be made new. With almost no changes to the layout we simply refreshed and updated everything. The cabinets are Maple from Huntwood. The countertops are quartz from Silestone and the backsplash is a Tucson Granite with a special pencil accent. All the appliances are new and the deep, stainless steel undermount sink and brushed faucet are from Dawn.
